The term is over and no doubt you are all happy to have a rest.  Although we are all glad to have some time to relax, it is difficult to get out and do anything because of the bitter cold.  So, while you sit in front of the computer and dream of warmer days, here are a few photos to bring a smile to your face.  Thanks to all the students who didn't mind me taking their photos.

Conversation Club

Hi!

Today was the first day of classes and I was very happy to see students again.  I met a few in the English department office and some visited my office on the fifth floor.  Some of you look the same (great), some of you have new hairstyles (also great), and at least one of you is looking very good in an ROTC uniform.

I am writing this post to advertise the Conversation club that we have on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:00.  If you have time, you can come to our meetings and practise your English speaking.  If you are shy, don't worry!  You can just listen until you feel more confident.  If you are interested, please contact me.  The meetings will begin next week because I have to arrange a classroom for our meetings.

I hope to see you there!

Good-bye 2009!

오늘은 올해의 마지막 날입니다.
누구에게는 좋기도 또, 다른 누군가에게는 힘들기도 했던 한 해 였을 것인데요
저에게는 정말 힘든 한 해 였습니다.
하지만 지금 이렇게 안도와 기쁨 속에 글을 쓰는 이유는
내년에는 분명 잘 풀리고 잘 될 것이라는 느낌이 들어서 그렇습니다.
여러분, 내년에는 모두들 대박치시고 좋은 일 많이 생길테니 걱정따위는 하지 마세요.
올 한 해, 영어영문학과 교수님들부터 1학년 막내학생까지 모두 잘 하셨고, 고생하셨습니다.

편집부 회식

 올해 몇몇의 3학년 학생에게는 각 학기 대반전이 하나씩 있었습니다. 1학기는 박조교의 시험감독 with Eagle eyes 및 강의실 변경이었군요, 2학기 최고의 반전은 영어사 기말시험 '어픈북'이었습니다. 어찌보면 별 것 아닐 수도 있지만, 밤새워 공부를 했던 학생들은 시험문제의 Tricky한 면에 놀랐고, 정말정말 놀란 학생들은 밤새워 공부를 안했던 것이 아니라, ㅋㅋㅋ 그들은 꿈에도 생각못한 '어픈 북' 에 책을 가져오지 않은 학생들이었습니다.
 최고의 반전을 한 해에 두 번 겪으면서 느낀 점 ; 사람은 1년을 살면서 안늙을 수가 없구나. 
어쨌든 모든 기말시험이 끝이나고 이제 오늘부로 방학에 접어 들었습니다. 일상사진 몇 장과 편집부 회식 사진입니다. 여러분 방학 잘 보내세요.

Conversation Club Final Meeting

Today was the last meeting of the Conversation Club for this term.  We all went to Don't Stop near the front gate.  A few people were late but, fortunately, everybody attended.  I think we all had a good time and ate a lot.  A LOT! ^^  I hope to see you all again next term.  And I hope that new members will also join the club.
